Since the retail site has traded a number of times since 2007, who would have thought that Richard Meier’s original plans for the space would survive through all of this?

The plans are for 235 units in two 16 story towers and approximately 21,000 square feet of retail space. Additionally, and always important in West LA, the plans also call for 876 underground parking spots.

Previous owner, Joint Treasure Ltd, demolished the former Robinson May retail building in July and also secured city permits necessary for the construction. The site is at the juncture of Wilshire and Santa Monica Blvd. next to the Beverly Hills Hotel.  Incidentally, the owner of the Beverly Hills Hotel is planning on adding a Waldorf Astoria to his site by 2017.

According to Robert Stamm of Savills Studley, the Robinson May sale generated approximately 20 offers from Asian, domestic and middle eastern buyers.los angeles commercial realtor triple net leased retail
